The Job
We are looking for a Senior Producer to join the CNN Newsroom Weekend Morning team in Atlanta and work with Christi Paul and Boris Sanchez.
The Daily
• The Senior Producer works with the Executive Producer to create, develop and execute outstanding shows.
• They will collaborate with the Anchor in Washington and the Executive Producer in Atlanta to plan and execute the program.
• The Senior Producer generates politically savvy rundowns with unique angles and relevant elements.
• They will coordinate with the anchor and anchor producer to edit questions and segments, and help the team in finding key elements from the day's political news.
• This role also works hand-in-hand with the EP to ensure quality control of the program, we well as producing the show in breaking news situations.
• They will also assist the EP with futures planning.
The Essentials
• At least 5-10 years of producing at a major market, cable or broadcast network.
• Extensive knowledge of politics and current events.
• Must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, excellent writing skills, and work well with production crew and talent.
• Control room proficiency, daily line producing experience a must.
• Political field producing experience preferred.
• Four-year college degree or equivalent in proven industry experience.
• Ability to manage a team in breaking news situations.
• Position requires impeccable news judgment, critical and strategic thinking, organizational skills, and positive team leadership skills.
• A strong editorial sense of what is political ''breaking news'' and what are substantial developments.
• Must be flexible and able to work long hours under deadline pressures.
