Job Description:
Why this could be your next big break:
The Warner Music Artist Services Finance VP will provide financial leadership to the WEA senior executive team to plan and execute the financial strategy of WMAS as it relates to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting and financial reporting needs.
Here you'll get to:
• Establish a clear financial baseline for a global P&L; identify and execute opportunities for gross margin and overhead improvement; develop scorecards and other mechanisms to monitor and track performance.
• Own the budgeting and forecasting of $150m in global ecommerce, VIP, tour, retail and licensing merchandise revenue and associated costs.
• Create and update global intercompany policies that will promote collaboration across business units.
• Work closely with A&R, creative, production, sales and distribution teams to ensure successful exploitation of merchandise, VIP and eCommerce rights.
• Provide analysis and consultation in developing new business opportunities.
• Advise on contract negotiations from a financial impact perspective including artist services rights, distribution, licensing, and vendor agreements; prepare projections, seek funding approval and monitor activity to help drive performance for new deals.
• Update WMG executives on the financial performance for the division and key finance initiatives including monthly and ad hoc submissions to corporate finance for analysis and consolidations.
• Prepare, analyze and communicate weekly, monthly and quarterly sales reports and other key performance metrics.
• Lead in shaping the overall finance department's policies, procedures, and best practices building reporting tools, creating and reviewing budgets, implementing internal controls and risk management procedures, evaluating and implementing systems and applying consistent customary business practices
Rockstar candidates will be able to:
• Come with working knowledge of the merchandise, VIP and live music space
• Comfortably work with senior level executives in different areas of the company
• Apply your proactive approach mentality with excellent analytical and communication skills
• Build alignment for initiatives and programs in a fast-paced environment
It would be music to our ears if you also had:
• Global supply chain operations and sales order management experience
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university
• Proficient knowledge of GAAP and related financial reporting requirements and standards
• 10 years of senior level financial and management experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
• Advanced MS Office skills
