Job Title: SVP, Publicity
A little bit about our team:
Warner Music Nashville's Publicity team is responsible for all music news and articles and for contact with the trades and other media for label press coverage. Creates the strategy for a unified publicity plan and presence in the marketplace for each artist. Overseas corporate communication for all Warner Music Nashville business news, charitable partnerships, staff updates, etc.
Your role:
This role oversees the Publicity department at Warner Music Nashville, that serves as a liason between label artists and media with regard to publicity campaigns. You will use creative thinking to strategize and execute publicity campaigns. You should have a deep passion for country music, pop culure, and media as a whole.
Here you'll get to:
• Plan and execute WMN publicity strategies
• Build and foster relationships with members of the media
• Secure and negotiate maximum media coverage
• Creatively develop campaigns
• Formulate tailored and effective pitches
• Persevere throughout the course of each campaign
• Lead media outreach on projects
• Provide council and guidelines to company managers for addressing the media
• Train and develop publicity staff
• Handle and safeguard confidential and proprietary information
About you:
• 15+ years experience in public relations, including experience leading a team/department.
• Expertise in communicating with the media.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, P.R., Marketing, or Music Business, or equivalent business experience
• Must have general computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office; must have knowledge of general business practices; must possess a strong work ethic, strong organization skills and pay high attention to follow through and detail; must have strong communication skills (written and verbal); must possess ability to adhere to deadlines and execute on tasks and handle multiple, diverse assignments; must produce quality work and be accountable; must manage time and possess ability to work well in team; must demonstrate ability to be innovative and suggest change/improvements within scope of work; must be able to anticipate needs and create efficient and effective processes; must be self-starter, self motivated and take responsibility/ownership of tasks; must have ability to think outside the box proactively, strategically and analytically; must consistently take initiative; must be able to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing situations; must be able to demonstrate composure and problem solving in stressful situations.
• Must be politically savvy, especially with various members of the media; must be action oriented, hard working, and energetic; strong presentation skills; must possess strategic agility in terms of foreseeing trends and problems before they occur
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of employees within the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, interviewing; hiring and training employees; planning; assigning; and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
