Intern, Revenue & Repertoire Assurance [Summer 2020]
Job Description:
We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our innovative and highly sought-after Revenue & Repertoire Assurance team at WEA, Warner Music Group's distribution division.
A little bit about our team:
Working under the supervision of the Sr. Manager of IRI and the Manager of SoundExchange, the IRI (International Repertoire Initiative) is an innovative digital distribution point within WEA under the auspices of Revenue & Repertoire Assurance. IRI drives the US release of thousands of frontline and catalogue titles by artists signed to Warner Music affiliates around the globe without a US label home. It serves as the key digital portal of entry in America for international artists signed to Warner Music, as well as an incubator platform for many of these emerging artists in the US market. Our dedicated IRI team is responsible for global repertoire outreach, monitoring production and scheduling based in the UK, fiscal analysis of US revenue results, facilitating artist development via coordination of US marketing opportunities, and overseeing the digital release footprint for new artists and iconic catalogue releases coming into the US from Warner Music affiliates worldwide.
Why this could be your next big break:
If you love international music, scrupulously planning for the release of titles day-and-date with the rest of the world, helping priority artists find the best niche for success upon release, and working with cutting-edge strategic and financial digital strategies on behalf of Warner Music and its global family of artists, this is the job for you. It offers the opportunity to learn about the global music business that Warner excels in, in a fluid, ever-evolving environment.
Here you'll get to:
• Support global day-and-date streaming launches in the US, numbering hundreds of WMG's international products each week, and flag priorities to relevant teams across the company
• Become familiar with the production, metadata, publishing, and US market set-up nuances necessary to prepare an IRI release
• Conduct market research and determine KPIs to develop international artists in the US without a label budget
• Assist with determining the key metrics for priority releases being handled by the IRI
• Participate in team discussions on how to respect Best Practices and how to prepare written and verbal presentations of Revenue & Repertoire Assurance work to our colleagues
• Capture & track data pertaining to new release screenshots, playlist placements, chart positions, marketing features, upstreams to US labels, and media coverage
• Create weekly IRI playlists for floor-wide speakers, as well as periodic themed playlists
• Monitor the IRI Tableau report and keep relevant teams informed of tracks/artists on the rise
• Help launch a new initiative to ensure WMI artists are properly set up across various DSPs, social media accounts, and more in order to give them the best chance for success in the global music market
• Periodically perform Top Artist and new release checks for each WMI affiliate
• Maintain a US & NYC-specific touring schedule of WMI artists
• Assist cross-functionally with Revenue Assurance team, at SoundExchange especially, by helping ensure IRI artists are properly registered and earning revenue at all intended accounts
Rockstar candidates will be able to:
• You have an interest in developing a deep understanding, interest in and passion for many musical genres on a global scale
• You have a systematic approach to identify solutions
• You are adaptable, and a quick learner who thrives in a rapidly changing environment
• You are a multi-tasker, with excellent time-management and organizational skills
• You are a self-starter, with the ability to take ownership of both technical & creative work streams
• You are highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-up
• You think outside the box and demonstrate exceptional problem-solving, diplomatic and innovative skills

• You are a team player who thrives in an inclusive environment
• You are capable of meeting tight deadlines and will be focused on execution
• You utilize detailed knowledge of social media and digital platforms

It would be music to our ears if you also had:
• You are pursuing or recently obtained a Bachelor's degree with relevant experience
• Marketing and data-research knowledge
• Familiarity and comfort level with large files of metadata
