A little bit about our team:
WMG's Digital Strategy & Business Development team is responsible for, among many other things, leading global and local digital deal negotiations with WMG's partners on behalf of WMG. The team strikes deals with global distribution platforms to drive monetization, define audience and substantiate operational levers.
The ideal candidate will be able to manage analytical work, on a deal-by-deal basis, with strategic thought: they will be able to synthesize tactical negotiation points with an overall strategic picture in order to support WMG's ongoing partnerships. This candidate will also, ideally, be passionate about music while being able to understand the bigger picture media landscape and driving towards an intersection of content, technological innovation and consumer behavior.
Why this could be your next big break:
You will provide analysis and synthesis of the data and foundations of many of WMG's global partners and will, consequently, help to drive both strategy and tactics with them.
Here you'll get to:
• Support Global Business Development team on global deal negotiations with financial analysis and strategic input.
• Act as a central resource for WMG headquarters: providing information, strategic insights, deal support and expertise as required.
• Eventual management of specific WMG digital service provider accounts: delivering account performance, development and revenue growth.
• Regular analysis and performance tracking of WMG digital partners, markets and business models.
About you:
• Undergraduate degree required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working in private equity, management consulting and/or media and digital technology in a business development capacity.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills: resourceful, pragmatic, organized and efficient.
• A self-starter with experience working with local and worldwide colleagues, presenting to executives, and quantifying business opportunities.
• Ability to use internal and external resources and tools to identify key metrics, prepare reports, and extract meaningful data on trends and changing user behaviors.
• Passion for music, digital media and innovation.
