Job Title: Manager, Income Tracking (Temp)
A little bit about our team:
The Income Tracking department is responsible for verifying and analyzing all royalty payments for any releases in the U.S. and Canada which contain Warner Chappell copyrights, to ensure the licensees have reported and remitted accurate accountings of royalties earned in a timely fashion. We are vital to the service Warner Chappell provides to its songwriter clients. You'll be working within a team of 4 people under the supervision of the Income Tracking Manager.
Your role:
You will work closely with the following teams:
Internally: Copyright Administration, Mechanical Licensing, Royalty Processing, Artist and Repertoire, Finance, Business Affairs, Internal Audit and our foreign affiliates, to understand the licensing and administrative processes regarding rate calculations and the collection of the royalties.
Here you'll get to:
• Liaise with 3rd party partners used to enhance collection efforts
• Compare inbound royalty statements against third party data to ensure completeness in reporting
• Follow up with payors to investigate and resolve any discrepancies discovered from these comparisons
• Provide accurate data and analysis to other departments, including executives, clients and outside parties as needed/requested
• Partner with Royalty, Executive, and/or Business Affairs department to review problems of clients such as writers, composers, publishers, etc., through research and conferring with other departmental or Company staff and/or coordinates the adjudication and/or settlements thereof
• Understanding of and ability to use systems and technology critical to income tracking – including but not limited to Tableau Online, Monday.com, Alteryx, etc.
• Use critical thinking to strategically approach and uncover underpayments/non-payments
• Assist in managing distribution of tasks and workload among team in order to complete departmental objectives
About you:
You have…
• 2-3 years of experience in music publishing – preferably in Administration
• Familiarity with performance rights organizations (specifically as it relates to broadcast and live performance revenue)
• Excellent problem-solver
• Interested in research

• Experience querying and manipulating large data sets
• Previous managerial/leadership roles
