Job Description:

As the independent label arm of Warner Music Group, the Controller will be a key team member helping ADA achieve their mission through collaborative efforts with the legal, marketing, promotion, label management, corporate and shared services teams.

The Controller will have a critical role in financial management of the business, while also gaining invaluable exposure to various departments within a music company. As a division with fewer than 100 employees, everyone at ADA is given the opportunity to get involved in special projects in a way not often found at large organizations. The Controller will be responsible for financial accounting and forecasting, internal reporting, maintaining controls policy, and developing a strong working relationship with people and departments across the entire Warner Music Group organization.
Here you'll get to:
• Manage the overall accounting close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Ensure balance sheet accounts are fully and accurately reconciled on a timely basis. Inclusive of capitalized A&R spend, P&D payables, and intercompany balances.
• Manage the annual budget and monthly forecasts with full support required for the P&L.
• Provide recommendations with financial analysis to assist in business decision-making.
• Review and manage the reporting process for label statements. Respond to priority label requests with financial analysis.
• Work with IT to manage the financial information provided to labels via ADA portals.
• Manage communications with global affiliate finance leads to ensure accurate reporting.
• Act as the primary contact for WMG Corporate and Center of Excellence on new initiatives.
• Manage a finance staff of 3 – 4 people.

Rockstar candidates will be able to:
The rockstar candidate will be a highly organized, motivated self-starter, who is comfortable with managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will also have:
• 5 -10 years of experience
• CPA, Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Auditor experience at one of the Big 4 Accounting firms
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, macros)
• The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
• An inquisitive mind and a desire for constant process-improvement
• Experience with SAP, HFM, and Concur.
