Associate Director, Film & Television Music
A little bit about our team:
The sync team is a collaborative group of creatives who are responsible for placing Warner Records' music in films, trailers, television shows, video games, promos, and sports programming. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with excellent interpersonal skills who maintains strong relationships throughout the sync world and music industry. We are in need of a seasoned pitch person to help us secure multiple and impactful placements for our artists across our roster. Help us amplify the stories our artists tell through their music by joining our sync team and aiding in our pitch efforts!
Your role:
Your role is essential to the Warner Records sync team. Your primary task will be to seek out opportunities for our artists with music supervisors and music executives, film and television producers, directors, and extended production team members. Your stellar pitching talents and keen ear to evaluate songs for potential sync placement will play a key role in securing sync and marketing opportunities for our artists. You will be encouraged to share ideas to supplement our pitching efforts and participate heavily in a creatively collaborative environment.
Here you'll get to:
• Develop new and use existing relationships within the music supervision community and beyond for the purposes of recommending music and securing sync placements.
• Meet and work with artists and artist managers to gain insight into the artist's vision and music to best prepare you for pitching music for sync placement. You will also be responsible for updating artist teams, both internally and externally, on sync projects and departmental pitching efforts.
• Participate in weekly Warner Records department meetings and contribute ideas on how we as a team can develop, grow, and promote our artists, especially within the sync world, and help sharpen our departmental approach to internal protocols and external outreach.
• Partner with various Warner Records departments (marketing, sales, promotion, etc.) to capture artist and marketing campaign information and attends general marketing and related artist-specific planning meetings.
• Represent Warner Records weekly at concerts, showcases, listening events, playbacks, mixers, and other events on a regular basis. On occasion, you will help coordinate artist showcases for Warner Records artists.
• Collaborate closely with publishers to coordinate pitching and clearance efforts.
• If required, travel to key markets to generate business and maintain existing relationships.
About you:
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience pitching music for placement in visual media, and must have significant relationships in the film & TV music community specifically with music supervisors, production companies, music publishers, and record labels.
• Excellent communication skills, required to host both clients and artist managers at events.
• Robust work ethic, excellent time management skills, and can work on multiple projects simultaneously with phenomenal attention to detail.
• Genuinely love music across all genres, and you are an active music listener and concertgoer.
• Exhibit a wide and diverse range of computer skills and are able to build reports and creative decks to convey important information in a professional and concise manner.
• Can read through and understand materials and be able to recognize and extract critical data and information.
• Meticulous and demonstrate a clear understanding of the intricacies of music licensing, including but not limited to the role publishing splits and samples play in music clearance and pitching.
