Job Description:
High Level Job Description:
The candidate hired to fill this position will be responsible for entering Artist Recording Agreements into the EROS royalty system, as well as assisting with the New Project Release Tracking and Intercompany outbound reporting processes. Duties include key process controls that affect the entire Reporting Operations Group.
Detailed Job Description/Group Responsibilities:
• Review, interpret, and enter key terms from artist recording agreements into WMG's artist royalty system (EROS);
• Liaise with Business Affairs executives at each of WMG's U.S. record labels to discuss various issues, including questions about contract interpretation;
• Track the new releases of each of WMG's U.S. record labels and monitor SharePoint routing process of the key data related to each such release to the various teams in the Reporting Department to ensure that we are fulfilling our reporting obligations for each such release;
• Handle SAP Account maintenance requests from A&R Administration at WMG's U.S. record Labels and various members of the Reporting Department;
• Perform research associated with MUR outbound reporting.
• Facilitate the Reporting Department's responses to inquiries from WMG's internal and external auditors related to the Reporting Group's key process controls around Contract Entry and New Release Setup;
• Assist with WMG's monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes as needed by responding to information requests from WMG's Corporate Finance Department, the U.S. Shared Services Royalty Finance Team, and the Finance Departments of WMG's U.S. Record Labels; and
• Perform any other duties and tasks related to the Department's role and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Department's senior management from time to time.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Candidate must have strong computer skills, including strong data entry skills (with an emphasis on accuracy) and strong proficiency using Microsoft Office's Excel and Word applications;
• Candidate must be able to work well independently and as part of a team;
• Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Candidate must possess excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills;
• Candidate must be able to meet deadlines consistently and effectively while working under pressure;
• Candidate must be able to manage multiple assignments at any given time and prioritize them effectively and appropriately.
Special Requirements/Preferences:
• Experience with reading and interpreting contractual provisions preferred.
• A background in or an aptitude to learn SharePoint design and development desirable, but not required.
• Candidate should be able to work outside of normal business hours from time-to-time, as and when needed. Similarly, candidates should be prepared to schedule vacation days at times that will not conflict with any relevant internal deadlines, so that their absences will not interfere with their ability to meet such deadlines.
• Music business experience a plus, but not mandatory.
Education
Required/Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree required.
