Job Description:
Job Title: Administrator, Contract Administration
A little bit about our team:
We are a global music publishing company, home to a wide array of legendary songwriters and a rich catalog of contemporary hits and influential standards. Here, you will be serving as an Administrator in the Contract Administration area of the Copyright department. Along with the rest of the Copyright team, you will be working with our US based and International staff to administer rights on behalf of our catalog.

You will be working at a major music publishing company, interacting with numerous departments (Legal, Licensing, Royalties, and Finance). Here, you'll help to administer a catalog of more than one million copyrights worldwide; serving as a key contact on our Contract Administration team. You will be part of a team which is responsible for the set-up, maintenance, and notifications for all US and Canadian publishing agreements.
Here you'll get to:
• You will assist with briefing deals in our Tango system (new deals, amendments, terminations, options, record advances, etc.)
• You will assist in setting up royalty rates, payees, and in monitoring rate escalations.
• You will send Letters of Direction to PRO's, record labels, DSPs, etc.).
• You will send pass-thru notices to prior administrators and confirm with external sources.
• You will circulate weekly deal notifications internally covering newly-signed deals, terminations, amendments, and options.
• You will respond to inquiries related to claims, counter-claims, and split disputes.
• You will liaise and interact with Legal, Licensing, Royalties, and Finance departments, as well Harry Fox, PRO's (ASCAP, BMI, etc.), record labels, and the public regarding contract administration issues.
• You will assist with catalog updates, special research projects, and the circulation of affiliate notifications.
• You will maintain reports which include, but are not limited to, the tracking of outstanding/pending issues, tracking of letter of direction status, logging new deals, and maintaining schedule A status.
Rockstar candidates will be able to:
• Read and understand materials and documents and can recognize and extract critical data and information.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
• Have excellent phone skills and email etiquette.
• Be a self-starter, self-motivated, and take responsibility/ownership of tasks.
• A strong work ethic.
It would be music to our ears if you also had:
• A working knowledge of copyright law, familiarity with PRO's, and basic understanding of music publishing.
• A high school level education to be augmented by course work in business administration, and copyright law, and
• Two (2) to three (3) years of relevant experience in business administration, and/or copyright administration, preferably in a music publishing company, at least one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity, or
• A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience, sufficient to qualify for the duties of the position.
