The Job
WarnerMedia seeks a Business Affairs Administration Manager for the Business Affairs department.
The Daily
• Responsible for the preparation and/or review of contractual payments for WB, Animation (WAG), New Line, Digital, DTV and Castle Rock. Initiate payroll and accounts payable start paperwork process and ensure that it is received, complete, accurate and distributed internally as appropriate.
• Responsible for reviewing and interpreting deal memos and contracts and input information into 400 page deal book which provides executives with up-to-date summary of development deals and term deals information.
• Oversees and reviews all requested checks for release to agents and attorneys and approve release of same.
• Interact with Creative Staff to seek approval for script commencement and script deliveries. Interact with Studio and Production personnel at all levels, as well as writers, directors, producers, talent agencies and attorneys.
• Manages the WGA weekly reporting and handles all WGA inquiries.
• Prepare and distribute monthly reports and any special reports requested by Business Affairs, Creative Staff, Production, Accounting, Labor Relations, etc. Create any ad hoc reports from reports previously generated.
• Works with the Creative Executives and the Travel Department on any travel for writers, producers, directors and talent for development and pre-production.
• Coordinates procurement of office supplies within department.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
The Essentials
• Minimum 5 years experience in Entertainment Business Affairs required.
• Previous experience working with contracts and the ability to understand contract terminology required.
• Contract Administration background required.
• High School diploma required.
• College level coursework in Business Administration preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, spreadsheets (Excel, etc).
• Knowledge of Business Affairs terminology required, e.g. Deal memos, contracts, Term Deals, etc.
• Knowledge of Production schedules.
• Knowledge of WGA requirements regarding eligibility and status of Writers' employment on WB projects required.
• Knowledge and understanding of payroll process, including experience with Cast & Crew, payroll documentation and accounts payable.
• Ability to coordinate and prioritize a large volume of work independently while contributing to overall team processes.
• Must be able to work under strict time constraints with all levels of management.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of management orally and in writing.
• Must be able to understand and interpret contracts for proper and accurate payment to writers, producers, etc.
• Must be able to react quickly and tactfully to demands from management personnel from a variety of departments including, but not limited to, Business Affairs, Creative, Legal, Finance, Production and Labor Relations.
• Must be highly organized; self-starter.
• Must be someone with a high level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in dealing with highly confidential information.
• Liaise with all content partner representation (talent agencies, production companies, law firms and business managers).
