Warner Bros. The Job
Warner Bros. Television, a division of WB Studio Enterprises Inc. seeks a Director, Current Programming for the TV Current Programming department. Ensures consistency and creative integrity of assigned shows in accordance with Warner Bros. guidelines. Oversees every aspect of assigned primetime series on network, cable and streaming services. This includes but not limited to the reading and evaluation of weekly scripts regarding concept, character development, character definition, story structure, humor and dialogue.
The Daily
• Oversees creative aspects of returning Network, Cable and Streaming series assigned to this executive. This includes the evaluation of weekly scripts regarding concept, character development, character definition, story structure, humor and dialogue.
• Evaluates daily script revisions and dailies of drama series.
• Evaluate and consider agency submissions for comedy and/or drama writing staffs, as well as episodic directors.
• Books episodic directors.
• Attends table reads when applicable.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and create weekly status reports, keeping management updated and informed of all show related matters.
• Acting liaison between internal departments, network executives, and showrunners to ensure show maintenance and quality control.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
The Essentials
• Position requires a minimum of 3 years creative executive experience with previous current programming experience in both drama and comedy.
• Strong drama background preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Must have strong writing and excellent communication skills
• Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management
• Must be able to work under strict time constraints and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Must be detailed-oriented and organized
• Must be able to handle confidential information
• Must be able to problem solve within scope of responsibility
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks
