Warner Bros. International TV Distribution is responsible for expanding the Studio’s global presence in television, for handling the full breadth of distribution services to the international television marketplace and for establishing and managing strategic global alliances that include co-productions as well as branded channels and cable and satellite co-ventures.
We are currently seeking a Temporary Senior Counsel to join WB’s International TV Distribution Legal & Business Affairs department. This temporary position has an estimated start date of 2/1/12 and will last approximately 4 months.
This position will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
• Provide legal and commercial advice, legal documents and related support to the division’s sales and business development executives, contract administration, finance, and marketing.
Negotiate and draft complex distribution, license, equity and related agreements.
• Review and revise form agreements and standard terms and conditions; assist in implementing departmental and company-wide initiatives.
• Supervise outside counsel.
• Research and provide advice on copyright and related issues under US and international laws.
Desirable candidates will have the following qualifications:
• JD from accredited law school required.
• Member of California State Bar.
• Minimum six years legal experience in major studio or comparable law firm experience with at least two years relevant television distribution experience.
• PC Skills: Windows XP, MSWord, DeltaView, Access, Excel, MS Outlook, Power Point.
• Foreign Language: Proficiency in Spanish, Japanese, French, German or Italian a plus.
• Must be well organized, efficient, and have ability to prioritize.
• Must have ability to handle multiple tasks and meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Must have excellent attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
• Must have excellent communication and writing skills, including ability to communicate clearly and tactfully with others.
