Business Unit Overview
Warner Bros. Studio Facilities (WBSF) oversees the physical operations of the historic 110-acre main lot in Burbank including its 30 soundstages and 20-acre backlot, as well as production-related services including costume, set-dressing, construction, set lighting, catering, transportation, photography and much more. The production site also hosts tours for consumers offering guests intimate views at the inner workings of thriving entertainment studios.
What part will you play?
Warner Bros. Studio Facilities (''WBSF'') is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst for the Motion Picture Imaging (''MPI'') division within the Post Production Creative Services (''PPCS'') department. The position will assist in the preparation of capital and operating budgets; perform month- and year-end financial reporting including, adherence to internal controls; review departmental billings to ensure accuracy and completeness; reconcile Line of Business systems with SAP; capital project tracking and reporting; identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities; serve as the departments' point person, and ensure compliance with WBSF financial and administrative policies and procedures.
Review internal and external billings including month-end accruals.
Oversee accounting functions including: PCard, accounts payable, accounts receivable, capital project tracking and reporting, journal entries, daily and monthly operational reports, and financial statement activity ensuring revenue and expenses are accurate.
Analyze department's labor hours (internal and external) and compare to relative revenues.
Identify and report discrepancies between paid hours and billed hours. Analyze manual transfer process between Line of Business systems (Gator/Zytech), recommend improvements, and implement processes resulting in operating efficiencies.
Assist in preparation of capital and operating budgets.
Provide strategic support to operating executives and WBSF senior management through timely analysis, identification of business risks, and useful and recommendations.
Compile operational and financial data for management including monthly variance analysis of actual vs. forecast/budget and KPI metrics.
Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and Company policies and procedures.
Maintain adequate internal control at all times, including but not limited to safekeeping of Company assets, cash controls, adequate and timely approval of purchase and other transactions, etc.
Participate in financial and operational system initiatives to achieve maximum benefits for Departments, WBSF and Warner Bros.
Perform ad-hoc analysis and special projects as required. Identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities driving improvements in customer service levels, process efficiencies, and increases in productivity without increasing headcount.
What do we require from you?
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred.
Minimum 2-4 years accounting experience.
An understanding of daily accounting, record-keeping, financial reporting/analysis, ability to review and analyze profitability, invoicing, reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements.
Previous experience in entertainment industry preferred.
Advanced excel skills including pivot tables and v-lookups is preferred.
