The Director of Internal Communications and Culture will be accountable to and sit on the WBUK Executive Committee (Exco). The role will have a dual report into the EVP & Group Marketing Director WBUK with respect to the formulation and execution of an internal communications strategy) and the VP Human Resources (with respect to the WBUK culture).
This role will work closely with senior management and the President & MD of WBUK and his Senior Strategy Manager, with primary responsibility and oversight for WBUK internal communications and for WBUK company culture, together with the Human Resources department. He/she will also have responsibility for managing the UK Internal Comms & Culture Apprentice.
Essential job functions
• Develop an annual WBUK internal communications strategy and plan for proactively improving on our culture, with input and approval from the WBUK Exco
• Conduct a comprehensive overhaul of the internal communications strategy for the UK business that takes into account the physical changes to how we work, evolving existing communications practices (methods, frequency of communications and channels used) to address concerns raised by staff and senior management
• Work closely with the WBUK Exco and Executive Office in the formulation and cascading of the WBUK vision, priorities, culture and other key messaging
• Ensure consistent and strategic cascading of objectives (Burbank, UK, Divisional)
• Be responsible for all cross-divisional and cross-territory internal communications in the UK and Ireland offices
• Provide communications counsel to WBUK senior management – speech writing and delivery
• Ensure consistent and clear communication between senior leadership and staff
• Collate information about WB business and maintain a system for updating and sharing these with key executives as needed
• Support Exco members in preparation of all awayday agendas and presentations, ensuring consistency of messaging and reviewing purposes and how they inter-relate
• Audit current comms tools and propose most effective platforms for communicating
• Finger on the pulse of the UK, thinking strategically about how to cultivate a motivating and modern work environment that reflects the concerns raised by employees in the Culture Survey and the world we are living in and in which critical messages and information is shared seamlessly
• Work closely with HR to improve on the WBUK company culture, in particular with the transition to an agile working environment. This includes the design of programmes to facilitate and maximise the benefits of the new Warner House agile working environment
• Culture / employee surveys: analysis of results and action planning
• Design and implementation of an annual culture and engagement plan that imagines new ways of promoting and developing WBUK's culture to be one of transparency, proximity between the Exco and all employees, internal collaboration and networking and internal mobility

Person specification
• Significant experience in a leadership position working with senior management and heading up internal communications planning, PR, internal relations (in-house or agency), employee engagement and company culture transformation
• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Knowledge and interest of the particular issues impacting the film, television and video games industries
• Experience of working in a matrixed organisation and on company culture would be a plus
• Able to operate at all levels within the organisation, specifically to work and influence senior management
• Skills in diplomacy and internal negotiating
• Strong listening, oral and written communication skills
• Will be tenacious and determined
• Attention to detail and excellent document drafting and proof reading skills
• An ability to integrate well into different business areas
• Flexible and responsive to the business requirements and breaking news
• Strong organisational skills
• Possesses initiative and able to work with limited management but equally a strong team player
• Will be pragmatic
