Search for Payroll Accountant jobs in Los Angeles-CA
Warner Bros. Discovery- Unscripted TV Department is looking to hire a Payroll Accountant to be a key strategic partner with the Production Accountant and Assistant Accountant in the execution of the production plans and television show budgets that represent the creative vision of the producers. This position will be instrumental in maintaining accurate payroll accounting records and adhering to accepted procedures for all production payroll operations / payments.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for accurate and timely payroll, including but not limited to: base pay, payroll taxes, union pension, health & welfare contributions, statutory and guild requirements for crew.
• Execute payroll setup processes for new shows and handling of payrolls in coordination with production teams.
• Responsible for facilitating the onboarding all production employees including union, cast, and crew through digital onboarding systems.
• Maintain fringe rates and tables with outside payroll companies, and ensure they accurately reflect benefit costs associated with crew.
• Reconcile payroll data and transactions as needed between outside payroll systems and internal accounting systems.
• Communicate between production, vendors, employees, corporate payroll, content accounting, and labor relations.
• Support Studio Finance and Production Accountants as needed to maintain the accuracy of each production's labor costs Investigate and resolve open issues with payroll in a timely process.
• Interface with production crew and studio cross-functional partners to answer questions and problem solve payroll issues in a timely and constructive manner.
• Aid in Production Audits throughout the life of the production.
Experience:
• Union / Guild experience required; experience with IATSE, SAG & AFTRA, DGA, WGA desired
• Knowledge of standard Accounting and Financial practices required
• Knowledge of accounting, production finance and spreadsheet applications required
• Experience as a Payroll Accountant on at least one full union project desired
• Knowledge of Cast & Crew, PSL, Start+, Hours+, Studio+ systems preferred
• Knowledge of ShowBiz Timecards a plus
• Ability to work overtime and weekends during filming a plus
• 37 weeks production schedule
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
