WAMU 88.5 is seeking a Producer for our program, 1A.

WAMU is Washington DC's leading public radio station for NPR news and information. It's our mission to connect Washingtonians with each other and the world through balanced, enlightening, inspiring and entertaining programs of the highest quality.
1A is a show about a changing America. Host Joshua Johnson convenes a daily conversation about the most important issues of our time.
The Producer for 1A, working with minimal supervision from the Senior Producer, develops, creates and manages stories, guests and conversation for a nationally distributed live news talk show with a presence across multiple digital media platforms. This position is responsible for researching a wide range of political, cultural, sport, literary, and social topics; and for conceptualizing and shaping compelling stories on air and online.
The Producer for 1A will creatively use an array of audio, visual and multimedia tools. This position will leverage existing audience engagement tools to connect the program's journalism to the needs and concerns of the audience.
The Producer for 1A will work alongside colleagues and other production team members, and will assist new members of staff to identify their training needs. The Producer will work with the Senior Producer and Executive Producer, sharing regular updates with the Director of Station Relations.
Your experience and attributes:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in journalism and media.
• An established network of contacts with national and international newsmakers.
• Experience producing content for a live daily talk program.
• Experience developing high-quality digital-only content.
• Proven ability to establish and grow online audiences.
