Responsibilities:
A day in the life…
The Disney Channel Original Movies Development department is responsible for creating new projects for the network. The original movies intern will work hands on with the development team, which is responsible for taking a project from idea to script to TV movie. As an intern, you will provide additional support for this team, and be able to see this process unfold first hand.
In addition, you will:
• Assist with administrative support – answering phones, setting meetings, filing projects, and updating databases
• Interact with outside businesses to coordinate meetings, and be able to see the scope of the industry as a whole
• Read scripts and books submitted for development, as well as review directing samples
Basic Qualifications:
What you bring to the role…
• Strong interest in Television and the Entertainment Industry
• Proven skills utilizing Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work well under pressure, be self-motivated, energetic, detail orientated and able to work in a collaborative environment
• A strong desire to learn
Preferred Qualifications:
• Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year, or a recent graduate
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Previous experience with television or film development
Additional Information:
Intern Eligibility:
• All candidates must be eligible to work in the US.
• All candidates must be at least 18 years old.
• At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
• All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
Program Dates:
• All candidates must be available from May/June – August/September
• All candidates must be willing to work 40 hours/week
