Production Supervisor (Temporary) - The Proud Family
Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor can be assigned to supervise a particular stage of production (usually either pre-production or post production). They supervise the Production Coordinator and the Artwork Production Coordinator. The overall goal of the Production Supervisor is to put together complete, thorough shipments on schedule. In Post Production, the goal of the Production Supervisor is to maintain all aspects of post from take 1 return through final delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Assists Associate Producer (AP) or Production Manager (PM) and works with Vendor Studio and Digital/Post teams on Franchise, Marketing, and Publicity requests.
• When issues/problems arise, the Production Supervisor (PS) flags the AP/PM and brings forward suggestions on how to resolve the issues/problems.
• Supervises the breakdown of the script.
• Ensures the storyboard conforms as changes are made and distributes to necessary people including: Artists, Art Production Coordinator, Editor, Timing Director, Color Designer, and Background Painter, depending on the stage of production.
• Tracks the status of the production board ensuring that Storyboard Artists are meeting their production targets.
• Supervises the Art Production Coordinator to ensure that the design list is continually updated and distributed based on the status of the storyboard.
• Tracks black and white artwork ensuring that the model designers are meeting production targets, and database is accurate.
• Tracks color artwork ensuring that the Color Stylist and BG Painter are meeting production targets and database is accurate.
• Ensures that Art Director and/or Director reviews and signs-off on all color artwork.
• In Post Production, calls retakes, schedules spots, ADR through final delivery.
• Updates Director and Producer/LP/AP/PM regarding retake status and retake percentages.
• Establish system of communication to ensure Design, Editorial, and Story teams have appropriate materials and deadlines, and receive Executive Producer/Director notes and feedback.
• Ensures that artists and production staff have all hardware, software, and office/cube tools needed. If there is a request from the team, helps facilitate it getting through the appropriate departments and follows up on their behalf as needed.
• Communicates with Standards and Practices regarding clearance issues.
• Notifies Vendor Studio of episodic shipments and confirms receipt. Follows up on any issues/questions that come back from the vendor studio. Communicates on Take 1 deliveries, retakes, and retakes reference.
• Supervises coordinators and PAs to grow their skillsets. Actively expands their knowledge of the various roles and responsibilities on the team.
• Manages artists' assignments and makes sure they have what's needed to meet their deadlines.
• Partners with the LP/AP to gain more exposure and knowledge about providing feedback to artists and production team.
Basic Qualifications:
• Ability to oversee multiple tasks and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude with the ability to be flexible
• Excellent organizational, verbal, written, e-social skills and acumen
• Mac or PC proficient
Preferred Qualifications:
• Must have extensive experience and knowledge of pre-production, production and post-production methods on a 2D or CG animated television series.
• An experimental, risk-taking mind-set: Must be open to thinking outside of traditional television formats and outside of the traditional linear television model.
• Familiarity with animation software, hardware, databases and asset management system
• Experience working with overseas animation studios
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on production of animated programming
• Experience in a large dynamic studio
• A passion for children's programming
Required Education
• Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent work experience
