ESPN Wide World of Sports runDisney Business Development Internship, FL Fall 2020
Department Overview: runDisney engages Guests of all ages through a running lifestyle, culminating with events delivered in a way that could only happen at Disney. runDisney is the single endurance brand for the Walt Disney Company and the runDisney Sports Development Team is responsible for the development and integration of the runDisney brand both domestic and international across identified race weekends. The team works closely with a variety of WDP&R partners to ensure all relevant organizational goals and implications are appropriately considered. Through careful planning and attention to detail this team ensures our guests have a truly valuable experience.
Responsibilities:
Make a Difference…Assist with organizing efforts to assess runDisney initiatives to inform long term strategies and portfolios as well as assisting with product development. This position will help in evaluating new business initiatives, current state analysis, and research industry trends, proactively identifying value-added analysis, developing points of view, and framing actionable recommendations for leadership. The position will partner with teams across WDP&R to ensure all relevant organizational goals and implications are appropriately considered. Strong relationship skills with key partner areas within and outside Sports including Marketing & Sales, Entertainment, Merchandise, Consumer Insights, Event Management and Finance.
Your Role…
• Research and synthesize trends and benchmarking information from both internal and external sources
• Assist with research and deck compilations for projects and presentations
• Assist with planning, organization and operation of runDisney events
• Assist with Travel Tradeshow logistics and registration
• Assist with events during race weekends, including: site visits, hospitality, race day support, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong problem solving skills
• Self – Starter with ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Strong Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, skills, Keynote and Adobe Creative Suite
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable with uncertainty in business problems
• Proven leadership abilities
• Current valid U.S. driver's license
• Operating a company vehicle may be required for this role. Candidate must be willing and able to operate a company vehicle under inclement weather, including minimal lighting
• Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including days, nights, and holidays
Required Education
• Senior in college, completed Bachelor's graduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Sport Management, General Business, or similar
Preferred Education
• Recent graduate or Master's degree student
• Minimum 3.0 Overall G.P.A.

Internship Eligibility:
• At the time of application, must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR have graduated from college within the past six months OR be currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Not have already completed two consecutive (spring/fall) College or Professional Internship Programs
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Must provide full work availability
• Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work
• Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
Program Dates: The approximate dates of this internship are June 2020 through January 2021. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
Housing: A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
