Cast Activities, Recognition & Experience was founded in 1957 by a group of volunteers under the title of the Disneyland® Recreation Club. The Club was intended to improve the ''Disneyland® Work Experience'' and to ''Make Magic for the Magic Makers.'' We continue that legacy today in Cast Activities, Recognition & Experience, a department within the Human Resources Division. Each team member is essential to ensure we provide global recognition, programs, activities, wellness events and event planning services for our diverse Cast, Crew and Imagineers.
Responsibilities:
As a part of the Cast Activities, Recognition & Experience team you will help to preserve our rich Disney heritage while enhancing our Guest experience through memorable events and interactions. If you are motivated to be a part of this work, we want to hear from you!
In this role, you will assist with the planning of a variety of global events from Service Celebrations to Biometric Screenings to company-wide distributions. Events could include Holiday Celebration, Minnie's Moonlit Madness, and more. Interns will also assist with Cast Clubs, Retirement Services and Cast instructional programs. You'll drive results by assisting our guests through a high volume of calls and emails, as well as, providing exceptional guest service during events. Along with the guest experience, you will also help to craft these events with a hardworking and dynamic team of volunteers.
Basic Qualifications:
What you bring to the role:
• A guest service focus with experience following structured processes when answering phone and email inquiries as well as booking guest reservations
• Proven organizational skills while ensuring a high attention to detail
• Event knowledge and experience such as logistical planning, creating marketing materials, volunteer scheduling, event set-up and breakdown, day-of monitoring, etc
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
• Social media proficiency including creating content, engaging audience base and growing followers
• Supporting a team environment on day-to-day tasks while contributing independently in a fast paced environment, ensuring the success of all events
• Computer proficiency including experience with spreadsheets and databases, working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong partnering, networking and relationship building skills along with oral and written communication, including telephone etiquette skills
• Willingness to do some physical labor/ ability to lift 40 pounds, may be required to stand for
• Event Coordination experience and a positive attitude
A valid U.S. driver's license and comfort in operating a 15 passenger company vehicle. Interns will need to operate a company vehicle under inclement weather, including minimal lighting
Preferred Qualifications:
These things are a plus ....
• Prior participation in Cast Activities or Events
• Fluency in the Spanish language
• Familiarity with the Disneyland Resort property
Required Education
You are a junior, senior or recent graduate (within 6 months of graduation) earning a college/university degree in Special Events, Recreation, Leisure Studies, Marketing, Public Relations, H.R. Management, Hospitality or related major.

Internship Eligibility:
• At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Must provide full work availability
• Must provide own transportation to/from work
• Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are June 2020 through January 2021. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship, 40 hours per week, as this is a full-time internship.

The positions offered through this posting are all located at the Disneyland Resort located near Anaheim, CA. A limited amount of company-sponsored housing may be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
