Job Summary:
The Employee Relations Associate position is part of the Disney Parks, Experiences & Consumer Products (DPECP) organization and is located in Glendale, CA.
We are looking for someone who can support company-wide strategies to enable decisions that are consistent with Company policies, practices, values & culture while enhancing the Employee Experience during critical moments in the life cycle of the employment relationship. The successful candidate will be charged with integrating key partners across the Walt Disney Company to discuss continuous improvement opportunities, drive solutions that promote employee engagement, ER initiatives and business results. This includes core services such as Onboarding, Development, Direct Relationships (positive employee engagement), Performance Management, and Departures/Transitions.
Responsibilities:
• Day-to-day engagement with leaders and employees of all levels.
• Conduct timely, objective, and thorough internal review of Employee Relations inquiries.
• Maintain detailed and accurate accounts of inquiries and supporting documents.
• Support ER team with identifying and analyzing data/metrics for themes and trends.
• Facilitate training courses to support implementation of procedures, policies, and programs.
• Collaborate with other HR functional team members to assess organization effectiveness and implement integrated action plans.
• Partner closely with Labor Relations, HR Business Partners, Legal, Security, Public Affairs, Management Audit, Advisory & Assurance and Risk Management.
• Engage with ER team members across Company to assist with advancing casework.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 3-years relevant experience or in a professional level role.
• Ability to engage in building strong, inclusive, collaborative, and healthy working relationships.
• Experience in conflict resolution.
• Ability to analyze data, trends, and insights to identify the root cause of the event.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively influence throughout all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of employee relations, workplace investigations, federal & state laws / regulations (including but not limited to Title VII, ADA, ADAAA and FMLA).
• Ability to manage high-priority demands, prioritize workload and multiple responsibilities against strict deadlines.
• Demonstrate professional excellence, appropriately challenge status quo assumptions and demonstrate initiative and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual Spanish speaking/writing strongly preferred
• Experience in administration of Collective Bargaining Agreements
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree in business, human resources, psychology, sociology, industrial labor relations, and/or equivalent work experience
Preferred Education
• Law or Advanced Degree
