Job Summary:
Working as part of the EMEA Learning and Development team on a 12 month fixed term contract, this role predominantly supports the Disney Store business providing full training and development support, assisting Cast Members and Management teams to enhance their skills and knowledge so that they are of the calibre required to enable the company to meet its business objectives.
This role will manage the successful assessment, development and delivery of skills training and team development activities throughout the region – partnering with the international Learning & Development teams to leverage existing content (adapting and updating, when necessary).
Responsibilities:
• Consult with business clients, assess their needs / requirements and propose training and development strategies and interventions, following discussions with Senior Management, initiate plans and organise the development and delivery of training programmes.
• Enhance the skills and knowledge of Cast Members and Management teams in Stores through development tools and initiatives to enable them to increase their effective contribution to the business. Lead retail specific training initiatives such as sales and service training.
• Blend the e-learning offered across the business to compliment classroom training to build upon a flexible learning approach.
• Adapt, develop and deliver on-going training and development events to meet diagnosed needs and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the programmes.
• When development cannot be designed and delivered internally, manage and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure optimum performance and make sure the needs of the business are met, and match Disney's culture:
• Provide training briefs and invite suppliers to pitch
• Provide supplier feedback
• Maintain preferred supplier list for team-building and other activities
• Monitor spending against the assigned training budget.
• Support the wider Learning and Development team with key initiatives and delivery of core programmes including diversity and inclusion training solutions.
• Increase awareness of Learning and Development through effective communication and marketing of learning activities and events including promoting resources available via the learner management system.
• Be involved in organisational development projects such as the annual engagement survey, roll-out of systems and processes linked to e.g. annual appraisal and talent assessments. Adapting tools and communication to increase relevancy to a Store based workforce.
• Proactively lead and manage direct report. Ensure regular objectives are set, reviewed and feedback given.
• Assist less-experienced HR colleagues in the development, revision and enhancement of training materials and courses with regards to approach, content and delivery.
• Assist clients with their Talent & Succession planning objectives.
• Manage ad-hoc projects as and when required.
Basic Qualifications:
• Demonstrable experience of successfully consulting to the business and designing and delivering relevant and impactful people and team development solutions
• Proven experience in facilitating and delivering (multiple-day) training within a large company, preferably within the UK or European market
• Experience in a retail environment
• Demonstrable presentation experience with a strong motivational dimension and familiarity with presentation software (PowerPoint) tools and equipment
• Strong organisational and problem solving skills
• Strong attention to detail, including exceptional time management and prioritisation abilities
• Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an organisation
