Full Time Job
We are hiring Character TDs to join our team in creating the most appealing character rigs on the planet.
Our ideal candidate has strong technical skills in rigging, astute artistic sense, and a pinch of mad scientist. Our Character TDs are challenged to not only create incredible rigs as part of our Character Asset Teams, but also plus every shot in the film with breathtaking character effects work.
You will work closely with the industry's top talent in fields ranging from design and modeling through animation to bring our characters to life.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate directly with Character Asset Team members: Directors, Character Designers, Animators, Modelers, and Look Development Artists to define and create the best animation rigs for a wide range of character styles and art directions
• Responsible for the creation and downstream success of each character
• Character effects for shot production, including cloth and hair simulation, and final character polishing
Requirements
• Exceptional artistic and technical skills
• Experience on 3-5 CG feature film productions
• Experience working in collaborative environments and taking direction
• Solid understanding of the principles of animation
• Extensive knowledge of anatomy, kinematics, and physical behaviors
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Solid understanding of Python and MEL scripting and comfort with Linux environments
• Experience in Modeling a plus
• Experience in Hair/Cloth simulation a plus
• Bachelors degree in Art, Illustration, Computer Graphics, Engineering, related field or equivalent experience
Application Materials
• A reel and reel breakdown (technical and visual) of your recent and/or past Character TD work
• Examples of broad motion in rigs and inclusion of active, dynamic simulations are a plus
• Supplemental portfolio of drawing or sculpture reflecting an understanding of anatomy a plus
• A resume that details your work history
