Position Description: VOCAL is seeking a full-time Sales & Brand Partnerships Manager. The primary focus of this sales & business development role is to engage with brands and agencies to generate new opportunities and revenue for our current and developing roster of Podcast/Vodcast shows?.
Job Type: Contract / Remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead/Manage the sales cycle from start to finish for VOCAL Podcast/Vodcast shows
- Identify relevant contacts, leveraging relationships with brand and agency contacts
for deal flow and target revenue quotas
- Source new business opportunities and build a sales pipeline of opportunity
- Build proposals, negotiate and redline contracts, and secure branded campaigns
- Respond to proposal requests and build out media plan deliverables
- Define project KPI's, objectives, and assumptions necessary to achieve success
- Prepare insertion orders, working internally with all departments such as Marketing,
Production, and Video for proposals and campaign integrations
- Work towards annual, quarterly and monthly sales goal metrics
- Work with VOCAL Director of Programming on strategic growth opportunities,
building out department infrastructure such as sales packages and pitch decks, as
well as potential to hire and build out department team.
- Understand the articulate to senior leadership the evolving needs of the marketplace
to ensure the company is putting forth content to maximize revenue opportunity
- Have an ability to sell to both DTC (direct to consumer) and Brand advertisers and
understand the varying complexities of both in the buying and selling cycle
- Have a deep understanding of industry trends and how they might affect business/deal flow
- Possess an ability or track record of selling multi-channel content: audio, video, social, events, etc.
What You Have:
- 3+ years in digital media sales business development with proven expertise packaging and securing podcast and/or multi-channel content advertisement deals
- Proven expertise in pitching podcast content partnerships
- Must be entrepreneurial, proactive, resourceful, efficient and have a network of
brand direct, advertising agencies, media companies and contacts across relevant
categories
- Experience negotiating deals and responding to RFP's
- Proven ability to set and exceed performance goals
- Superior communication, writing and verbal skills with an ability to consult with
management
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and extremely organized
- Ability to meet deadlines and possess follow-through
- Confidence and ability to negotiate deals and understand deal memos between
talent and brands
- Marketing savvy, problem-solving and pop culturally aware
- Positive attitude and strong social skills in speaking to talent and brands
- Strong interest in the growing podcast/vodcast and media space
