Founded in 2010, VMI has an impeccable reputation in the industry through building a strong collaborative and transparent relationship with filmmakers, financiers, and distributors.
We are currently seeking unpaid accounting intern who is looking for practical work experience in the entertainment business. This is also a great opportunity to network and learn other areas of the film business. Candidate should be a student majoring in accounting at a 4-year university. Will work directly under Controller. (School credit is ok.)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a monthly basis
• Invoice distributors and receive/post payments
• Assist with quarterly producer reports
• Complete special projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm and confidentiality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, and Outlook. (Familiarity with Quickbooks is a plus.)
• Candidate should be pursuing (or have completed) a four-year degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum 15 hours a week, 3 month commitment.
• Flexible schedule and start date.
NOTE REGARDING COVID 19: At this time most employees are working remotely, but those who are working in the office continue to follow all CalOSHA and Los Angeles County Health Department safety guidelines for offices to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. While most of our employees are vaccinated, we do not require it as a condition of employment.
