Overview and Responsibilities
The VP, Media Planning for ViacomCBS Cross-Company Marketing will be responsible for developing the strategy, campaign structure, optimization and reporting for initiatives that use the power of the portfolio to support key company priorities. This role will help set and operationalize cross-company media strategies to deliver performance and efficiency; lead optimization of owned promotional media across the company’s massive audience footprint; and collaborate with functional partners such as research, data and decision sciences, media planning, ad ops, affiliate distribution and marketing to build a smarter promotional ecosystem.
Responsibilities
• Translating campaign objectives into multi-channel media plans across the ViacomCBS portfolio of brands.
• Utilize Reach and Frequency, GRPs and excess research to build efficient and effective media plans
• Balance Media Metrics with Creative Sensibilities
Consult with ancillary business partners in development of media plans as needed
• Ensure timely launch of campaigns, campaign performance optimization, troubleshooting, and reporting.
• Ability to independently analyze campaign data and reports to connect creative work to media performance.
• Lead weekly meeting with cross company media planning team to discuss strategy and ensure synergy for upcoming projects
Basic Qualifications
• 8-10 years media planning/promo scheduling experience at an ad-supported television network.
• Strong knowledge of Reach and Frequency, GRP’s, Duplication and standard media planning metrics
• Proven understanding of online media planning, implementation and optimization, across various digital channels and tactics, including paid social, programmatic, video, and rich media
• Working knowledge of 3rd party software: specifically, DoubleClick, PRISMA, MRI and the Nielsen suite
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build cross departmental collaboration
• Exceptional communication skills
• Detail and deadline oriented, with great time-management and change-management skills
• Strong knowledge of television content and brands. Stays current on industry trends and opportunities
• Self-starter, inventive, able to work well under pressure and on multiple projects at the same time
