The Senior Director of Tax Reporting and Planning will contribute to the oversight of practices and procedures to ensure US GAAP compliance and effective internal controls with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. This position will interact with all levels of personnel from all income tax practice areas within the Tax department.
The Senior Director is dependent on the application of expertise in ASC 740 gained through Big 4 experience within the media and entertainment industry, strong project management skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills, a hands-on approach to task completion, and an eye toward driving process improvements.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President, Tax Planning and Reporting, and working closely with the Vice-President, Sarbanes-Oxley Controls and Technical Tax Accounting, and the Senior Vice President of Tax Operations/Tax Reporting, this position will
• Work with the aforementioned executives on oversight of practices and procedures to ensure US GAAP compliance and effective internal controls with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance;
• Serve as the initial reviewer of the Company's corporate income tax provision model, including analysis/investigation of variances;
• Lead in the continuing integration of all tax accounting processes (P&L and Balance Sheet).
• Work on the preparation of SEC disclosures relating to income taxes.
• Produce vital weekly/monthly forecast information for review by SVP Tax Operations and Reporting, subsequently provided to Corporate user departments.
• Monitor legislative changes in US and foreign tax laws that may impact the Company's tax positions, including tax accounting implications.
• Work on determining tax treatment relating to contemplated and actual corporate transactions, and document in memoranda to files.
• Potential interaction with external tax auditors.
• Partner with the departmental income tax practice areas (federal, state, international) on ad hoc issues to understand and address tax reporting implications.
• Apply experience and knowledge in finding effective solutions.
• Oversee and/or complete special projects/monthly departmental tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to set and accomplish goals in an organized manner with effective tools.Adept at prioritization, responsiveness and understanding sense of urgency in a timeline driven environment.Excellent time and project management, and execution skills.Proactive and visible work style and takes ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks.Strong written communication skills for internal memoranda and presentation slides.Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated expertise as subject matter expert in ASC740, and a solid knowledge of US tax technical matters.Must have minimum of 7 plus years of strong, current ASC 740 technical expertise in an advisory; role, with a minimum of 5 years Big 4 public accounting experience in the media and entertainment industry rendering corporate tax advisory and audit services including income tax accounting.Certified Public Accountant (CPA)Master's degree in Taxation from an accredited university preferred.Bachelor's degree in Accounting
