Overview:
The Marketing Manager at VidCon provides primary day-to-day oversight of paid media, promotions, email marketing, and marketing creative. This role works proactively and collaboratively to craft successful marketing campaigns that increase VidCon's brand awareness among its key audiences, tracks the efficiency of marketing methods, reports information after each campaign, and works with the Vice President to help drive successful global expansion.
This role also acts as a consultant for these same areas of expertise for all VidCon international events (Abu Dhabi, Asia, Mexico, Sao Paulo). In addition, the Marketing Manager handles all VidCon websites, working directly with the international teams and internal product and production teams to launch and update all sites while maintaining brand unity in content and user experience. This person serves as marketing point internally, working across departments (social media, talent, programming, operations) to complete marketing objectives.

Responsibilities:
• Develops marketing strategies and go-to-market plans (cross platform and cross functional) with a cohesive brand vision for VidCon US with the goal of improving reach, audience development, and revenue potential via tickets sales.
• Leads outside agency partners for paid media and creative and proactively communicates back to internal teams.
• Writes creative briefs and runs deliverables trafficking, liaising across teams to ensure that the various aspects of the media plan are completed schedule and with excellence.
• Responsible for real time tracking of all marketing tactics, providing optimization recommendations to be made during the remainder of that campaign
• Leads email marketing efforts inclusive of generating communication and segmenting strategy, maintaining a calendar, copywriting, GFX creation, scheduling sends, updating lists and segments, reporting on open and click through rates and shifting on strategy to maintain or increase success.
• Oversees the development of the VidCon US app as an on-site companion tool, working closely with the VCBS product team to develop and program it.
• Aids VP in overseeing PR agency and partners with Viacom and/or partner press teams to generate earned media and buzz that maps to the marketing goals.
• Works closely with Social Media Manager to ensure successful alignment of organic and paid social media efforts, finding efficiencies in resources and creative.
• Collaborates with the wider VidCon team to generate complete campaign plans that improve internal and external marketing vehicles and memorializes those plans in presentations/decks.
• Works collaboratively with agency partners to craft thoughtful, comprehensive, and useful post mortem reports for all campaigns.
• In partnership with the VP, advises international event teams on marketing, PR, email marketing, app development, and the website.
• Proactively monitors industry trends in an effort to generate forward thinking ideas that can optimize partnerships with brands, networks, creators/talent and beyond.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in consumer marketing or related role; live event experience a plus
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in the creation and analysis of major marketing campaigns
• Minimum 2 years of experience with database/member/subscriber management
• Experience within a major event, media, or public relations company preferred – agency experience is a highlight
• Experience with software and technology such as or similar to CRM platforms, Google Drive, Zoom, Outlook, Mac products, etc
• Previous knowledge of VidCon events a huge plus
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of the digital media landscape, its creators, its culture, and its fandom
• Very strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
• College degree in a marketing or business-related field
• Experience in overseeing paid media campaigns that are optimized toward tangible action (like ticket purchase)
• Fluid in social media platforms as it relates to media buying and their corresponding data points for campaign optimization
• Flexibility and willingness to tackle new projects and overcome obstacles with enthusiasm
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to quickly learn new software
• Ability to take feedback and criticism and apply it constructively to future projects
• Willingness to travel worldwide and work during events
• A positive, proactive frame of mind with a willingness to have FUN!
