Overview and Responsibilities:
Paramount's Digital Business Development is seeking a Director, Business Development-Social/Emerging Platforms and Streaming! Crafted intentionally, the team is responsible for identifying, securing, and maintaining distribution partnerships for social and new media partners that drive reach, vitality, and revenue for Paramount brands and trials and subscriptions of Paramount . Reporting to the SVP, Business Development, the Business Development Director will oversee the day-to-day management of the TikTok partnership for ViacomCBS as well as other social and emerging platforms (i.e. Metaverse, XR and VR related partnerships).
• Lead the day-to-day internal operations for large and evolving external Partners such as TikTok, Twitter, Roblox, etc. â€'' including partnership management, communicating product updates, assisting with social and VR/XR strategy development, revenue growth, and troubleshooting platform issues
• Collaborate with team leadership and internal collaborators to cultivate deal terms, negotiate, implement, navigate, and operationalize deals with existing and new platform partners
• Work cross-functionally with internal groups (Digital Marketing, Ad Sales, Content Distribution, Programming, Consumer Marketing, Product, Research, Streaming, Legal) to ensure that all teams are briefed on partnerships as they are being cultivated, and as they grow and evolve
• Maintain subject matter expertise on partner platforms, including their products, services, business models, and competitors
• Partner with Paramount legal to assess risk of publishing content on platforms based on new product launches and platform updates
• Work closely with Paramount digital marketing leads to help them reach their goals by providing strategic recommendations and securing marketing support for key brand initiatives
• Communicate partner updates to Integrated Marketing and Ad Sales teams to drive revenue
• Prospect and close new business deals with smaller partners that help reach team goals
• Establish and maintain relationships at current and potential partners
• Evaluate and provide strategic perspective on new technologies and trends
• Mentor manager-level members of the digital business development team
Basic Qualifications:
• 6 years working in digital business development, partnership management, digital ad sales, digital content distribution or similar roles in media or tech space
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Knowledge of, and interest in social media, XR/VR landscapes as well as tech and streaming
Additional Qualifications
• Optimal to have pre-existing relationships with key digital/social platforms
• Strong understanding of key social media and emerging tech trends
• Self-starter who will purposefully advance the team’s business goals
• Knowledge of digital advertising business
