Simon & Schuster Multicultural Marketing Department is searching for an Associate Manager, Multicultural Marketing to assist with the strategy and execution of marketing efforts for BIPOC authors and titles.
Candidate should be a creative marketer who is passionate about reading and diverse books and authors. This marketer should be proactive, extremely organized, and an excellent writer and communicator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate possesses project management skills, experience with social media marketing , and an understanding of and curiosity about BIPOC audiences and cultural trends.
Marketing Tasks
• Assist with identifying books and authors for the Multicultural Marketing program
• Brainstorm campaign ideas and partnership opportunities with VP and publishing teams
• Manage the execution of title and campaign promotions in partnership with the VP of Multicultural Marketing and imprints
• Create digital catalogs and relevant sales and marketing reports for BIPOC titles
• Coordinate creation and distribution of marketing materials
• Create and maintain project management timelines for campaigns and track progress on all projects
• Participate in production of Live Events
Influencer Management/Partnerships
• Research, identify and manage a database of BIPOC influencers, booksellers, bookstores and librarians
• Pitch influencers, booksellers and librarians on campaign efforts
• Research, identify and, together with VP, pitch BIPOC lifestyle brands/sites for partnership opportunities
Administrative Tasks
• Organize meetings with vendors, partners and internal teams as needed
• Organize marketing mailings
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3 years minimum of experience in book marketing or related field
• Project management experience, preferably in content production for digital and social channels
• Demonstrated passion for social media and the Internet, including a deep understanding of social media platforms including Facebook, GoodReads,Twitter, Instagram, & TikTok
• Superb written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Extremely detail oriented
• Understanding of social media analytics tools a plus - e.g. Talkwalker, CrowdTangle, Facebook Insights, and Google Analytics
