WHAT IS THE ROLE
- Stakeholder Liaison and Leadership: Regularly liaise with, and create commercial momentum in, Commercial, Content/Editorial, Marketing, Advertising, Strategy, Insights, Finance, and Business & Legal Affairs teams, as well as other departments within Viacom - such as Viacom International Studios, My 5, Pluto, Viacom Digital Studios, other Viacom International Media Networks regions, Viacom US. Drive and synthesize analysis and planning across these stakeholder groups and ensure execution of deals in line with company strategies.
- Deal formulation: Formulate key terms, including carriage and economics for distribution deals for content including channels, VOD, games and apps across all established and merging media platforms in the UK & Ireland, including all related analysis, strategizing and planning
- Negotiation: End to end negotiation management, including – deal preparation / scenario and operator analysis / strategic and tactical formulation / deal approval decks / presentation creation / opening proposal creation / negotiation tracking / client management / negotiation / stakeholder management / contractual savviness. Requires VP to have a strategic viewpoint about deals for internal approval, pitch the deal to the partner, and lead the execution of the partnership both internally and externally.
- Support: Support VP - Cluster with large UK partner negotiations through managing internal relationships with Legal, Strategy, Marketing and Operations as well as knowing the existing contracts and partner specific data.
- Strategic Relationship Management: Regular engagement with key clients – Pay and Free - to establish productive and effective relationships and coordinate and facilitate / enhance different VIMN relationships with key clients
- Platform & Market Insight: Keep track of key market / client / competitor developments, conducting / sourcing analysis as and when required. Work with the VP, Content, Research, Finance, Strategy Research to analyse data (subscription / transactional / viewership) and build and structure insights into segment / platform / product performance and subscriber / revenue trends, subsequently crafting and presenting business ideas on how to further increase product / revenue performance
Budget Setting: Help to prepare quarterly and annual budgets as well as mid-range plans. Provide subscriber and revenue estimates and projections on individual deals and products, and provides monthly updates on subscriber performance in conjunction with finance.
WHAT SKILLS DO YOU NEED
- Current or recent exposure to pay contracts with platforms such as Sky, Virgin, BT
- Current or recent experience with Free to Air organisations such as Freeview, DUK, Arqiva and SDN
- Demonstrated negotiation and relationship management capabilities
- Solid reputation as a leader
- Highly collaborative and experienced at working in matrixed environment
- Proven executive level written and oral communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence others’ points of view and/or create consensus.
- Experience managing, coaching and developing a team
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Exceptional business acumen
- Excellent communication and influencing ability, strategic relationship/partnership management skills
- Passionate follower of developments in broadcast media industry and parallel industries
