Overview
What is the role
A crucial role in ensuring our production runs efficiently and our programmes are delivered to the high standard our viewership expects. You will be reporting directly into the General Manager, VIS UK (but working closely also with the wider senior finance teams) and currently managing two team members (plus additional hires as the slate requires) this role will provide financial and Production Accounting support to ensure the smooth running of VIS UK and, in the short term, support Uplands TV. VIS UK has expanded significantly over the last couple of years and is looking for someone who can lead the financial requirements of our production slate. We’ll be looking to appoint someone who has experience of handling a high volume of simultaneous projects in a range of genres (knowledge of scripted and non-scripted programming is a definite plus). You will be supported by the wider business team within ViacomCBS, with accurate reporting and analysis a key priority.

• Providing data and accurate numbers to help the senior managers make key strategic decisions
• Efficient management of Production budgets to help drive profit growth
• Close working relationships with the Head of Production, and all the production teams
• Tracking Development and Operational / Admin spends against budget
• Leading the review and preparation of final (and monthly) cost reports, per programme
• Ensuring VIS UK is up to date with ViacomCBS’s finance policies – T E, taxis, credit cards etc
• Managing the Freelance invoice process, ensuring all hires are paid accurately and on time
• Overseeing the process of managing cash, and cash floats
• Reconciling monthly to the Management accounts
• Helping to set up and manage the Production Accounting systems and Excel spreadsheets
• Helping to plan and prepare tax credit applications, with the relevant Production Accountants
• Identifying production and operational efficiencies, and implementing process improvements
• Compliance with SOX, DOA, Viacom policies and procedures, including maintenance of strong internal controls (eg cash management)
• Ad hoc tasks and projects as required by VIS UK and the independent company we support
• Leading a team
• Uplands TV requires similar support but is a standalone company. We’ll need you to work with Uplands’ financial and management team to help ensure accurate reporting and forecasting or income, profit and spend.

WHAT SKILLS DO YOU NEED
• Significant knowledge of the TV Production industry, preferably in both scripted and non-scripted. It is essential you have experience working at either a broadcaster or TV production company.
• Experienced enough to work without micro management, preferably including leading a team in a TV production company
• Excellent MS office skills, including advanced skills in Excel
• Proven ability to pick up new accounting systems (e.g. SAP)
• Experience of working in a fast paced, high pressure environment
• An ability to integrate with production, ensuring the finance function is part of the teams it supports
• Displays confidence, resourcefulness and a pro-active mind set with excellent attention to detail
• Good business acumen, analytical and commercially minded
• Effective communicator, verbal and written, to both finance and non-finance staff
• Ability to think on feet and work to tight deadlines
• Good time management skills, with proven ability to prioritise tasks
• Focused on deliverables, well organised and self-motivated
