Full Time Job
Viacom is seeking an experienced and highly creative Senior Manager to join our Viacom Special Events team. Reporting to the VP, Special Events, the ideal candidate will have a passion and commitment to excellence.
• Work with internal teams to produce a wide variety of events from intimate high touch executive events to large events with innovative activations to engage guests
• Proven ability to produce red carpet events & premiere screenings
• Budget creation and management for all assigned events
• Establish staffing requirements and overall support for events
• Hire and supervise freelance staff and vendors
• Interface directly and autonomously with clients to establish event needs and with Senior Management Team to create content for events
• Develop and implement plans and production schedules for events (security walk thru transportation plan, creative & printed materials, etc.)
• Generate meeting schedules to help clients manage their project planning and approval process
• Develop creative menus in line with channel identity, goals of the event and current food and beverage trends
• Actively seek out new vendors to keep our events fresh and innovative
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 6 years’ experience producing a variety of events focused on brand immersion and messaging
• Bachelor's degree preferred or, equivalent work experience
• Strong project management, leadership, interpersonal and negotiation skills required
• Ability to juggle multiple projects under deadlines and lead team while interfacing with and managing internal channel clients
• Seek out innovative, creative and modern ways to represent our Viacom channels including: premiums, branding elements, menu, DJ, activities
• Basic understanding of all areas of production
• Proven ability to oversee, manage and develop fulltime staff along with managing multiple 3rd party vendors
• Must be a flexible, creative problem-solver with positive demeanor
• Must be self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to travel, work weekends and evenings a must
• Occasional onsite support for colleague’s event if needed
