The Senior Director, Programming Finance is a vital role to the success of the finance group. Contributing as a leader within the programming finance team, you will be challenged to improve existing and build new best-in-class processes. This position will support the Music and BET Group’s (MTV, MTV2, MTU, MTV Live, MTV Classic, VH1, LOGO, CMT, BET, BETHer) operational teams which include Programming/Scheduling, Acquisitions, Business Development and the VP Finance Brand Lead. Areas of focus will include providing insightful and actionable analysis to the business partners, budgeting and forecasting. You will manage a team of two and report into the VP, Programming Finance.
Responsbilities include:
• Be the single touch point for Programming Finance (Music and BET Group)
• You manage the financial planning cycle and execute Budget, Long Range Plan, Estimates
• You drive portfolio analytics –by utilizing/enhancing current systems or new technologies where necessary
• You are developing meaningful content reporting analytics packages (periodic and ad hoc) for programming
• You are establishing and feeding back ROI metrics on content investments
• You are influencing brand management toward impactful and results-oriented decision making.
• You develop KPI’s to measure content investment performance including the programming scorecard/Dashboard
• You partner with research and business intelligence teams to establish a correlation between content spending, utilization, rating and revenues
• You provide monthly analytical packages to brands head, strategy and finance management
• You exercise strong analytical skills to deliver timely, accurate, and effective analysis and reporting of financial and operational performance
• Continuously seek opportunities for improvement
• Manage a team of two
Basic Qualifications
• 6 years of finance experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA preferred
• Strong leadership, people management and decision making skills
Additional Qualifications
• Superior Microsoft Office, particularly Excel skills that include detailed and automated modeling abilities
• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting a must
