The Senior Director role within the Office of the Executive Vice President of Sales is a highly visible position within Viacom. The position plays a key role in facilitating all internal and external communication with exposure and close interactions across the sales organization and multiple groups across Viacom. In this role, you will accompany the Head of Sales on all executive meetings and be accountable for preparing, coordinating, following up, tracking, and communicating progress on the key business items identified in these meetings.
Job Responsibilities:
• Accompany the Head of Sales in executive meetings, as directed. Track and consolidate key information discussed; clearly outline next steps; coordinate subsequent follow-up (either directly or by enlisting the appropriate internal/external partners).
• Work directly with the Strategy group for resources and guidance to coordinate the best approach for each project and task.
• Maintain a comprehensive project tracker, specifying the tasks, objectives, points of contact, deadlines, and progress
• Summarize new and important projects from departments throughout the company (strategy, research, the channels, etc.) to keep the Head of Sales informed of the latest insights.
• Handle all preparation for the weekly Sr. Staff Meeting. This includes setting the agenda (with direction from the Head of Sales and Strategy), proposing and securing guest speakers/featured presenters (both internal and external), soliciting feedback and agenda recommendations from meeting attendees.
Strong communication and project management skills are a must for this position as you will be responsible for the following:
• Press Prep: work with the Strategy and Corporate Communications teams to develop strategic talking points and messaging to prep the Head of Sales for all press engagements (interviews, articles, etc); draft press statements and internal memos; prepare for industry panel appearances (e.g. crafting answers to panel questions).
• Communications to Sales Org: collect information for internal communications to the Sales Org and, where appropriate, draft and/or edit communication.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree; an MBA is a plus
• 4 years of experience; preferably in the media industry
Additional Qualifications
• Understanding of the ad sales marketplace and the dynamics motivating change for brands, agencies, media companies
• An ability to coordinate with multiple partners, both internal and external
• Ability to quickly understand/ ask questions about priorities, timelines, requirements
• An ability to think strategically to quickly understand the context of each project
• Ability to quickly understand/ ask questions about priorities, timelines, requirements
• Excellent communicator, outstanding written and verbal communications skills, including writing for executive level
• Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work collaboratively; ability to quickly build good working relationships across a vast organization, across functions
• Excellent organization skills, ability to work under tight, quickly changing deadlines. Resourceful, driven, independent
• Utmost attention to detail
