Senior Coordinator, Intellectual Property / Trademark - Viacom Media Networks
Do you have a passion for Television and Entertainment paired with an interest in Intellectual Property? If so, join our incredible IP team. We handle intellectual property including trademark clearances (domestic and international), trademark prosecution and maintenance and copyright registrations, for Viacom Media Networks, Paramount Pictures, and Viacom International Media Networks.
As our new team member, you will handle the extensive portfolio for all of the Viacom businesses from BET, Comedy Central, MTV to Nickelodeon. You will clear show titles, web series, games, apps but also review advertising, commercials, social media posts, style guides and more. As part of the production content review team, you will review scripts and episodes of TV shows across our Networks.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Conduct domestic trademark clearances by analyzing trademark reports and other data to resolve availability of proposed trademarks for use as titles for television series, motion pictures and on consumer products; arrange for the filing of trademark applications for cleared trademarks in the US; assist with prosecution/maintenance of trademark portfolio.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:
• You will conduct trademark clearances through online databases and other customary means in collaboration with a trademark attorney, present recommendations/advice to business groups
• You will coordinate and communicate with the different business team with respect to all trademark, domain name and other related IP issues
• You will provide regular feedback to partners and appropriate departments regarding the status of legal projects
• You will prepare documents for attorney review and filing with United States Patent and Trademark Office including electronic trademark applications, responses, amendments, declarations, applications for renewal and extensions
• Script and promotions review to research and identify potential Intellectual Property issues
• You will monitor trademark watch notices and report relevant marks to clients
• You will formulate appropriate identifications of goods and services and identify appropriate specimens
• You will communicate with clients regarding US trademark maintenance requirements
• You will assist with trademark due diligence, prepare and record assignments and undertake other chain of title activities related to corporate transactions
Basic Qualifications
• At least 2-3 years trademark paralegal experience in a law firm or law department including all aspects of United States Patent and Trademark Office trademark work (prosecution, maintenance, and renewals)
• Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online trademark databases
Additional Qualifications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Familiarity with the Corsearch(R)Advantage(TM) and Thomson® Seagis ™ software suites
• Proficiency with one or more IP docketing systems preferred
• You are diligent, highly organized, enthusiastic, dedicated, positive and energetic.
• Ability to deal effectively with conflicts;

• Organizational and administrative skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail, able to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines and able to work in an efficient and organized manner

• Litigation and copyright experience is a plus
• Strong social skills
• Highly collaborative and responds positively to change and new ideas;
• Curious and eager to tackle matters outside area of expertise
