The Research Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely production and distribution of ratings reports for MTV/VH1/CMT, as well as the competitive landscape. The Analyst will work with the team to extract and interpret Nielsen data and to provide actionable insights to various departments. Key brand stakeholders include Programming/Scheduling, Marketing, Development, channel executives. The ideal candidate will show analytical abilities, be detail oriented and have an inquisitive nature.
Responsibilities:
• Collect, organize and analyze Nielsen data for daily/weekly reports and ad-hoc requests
• Maintain and update programming schedules in Nielsen MyEvnts system
• Produce and distribute daily ratings overnights reports
• Assist with the creation of daily and weekly cable/broadcast competitive emails
• Network level projects such as program trending, time-shifted viewing and viewer migrations
• Support research needs of Programming, Marketing, Development with data findings
• Help provide insights on identifying the audience and analyzing their viewing behaviors
• Work closely with Managers and Directors on special projects and analyses
• Collaborate with peers within Viacom Research to coordinate uniformity of reporting and to produce competitive tracking reports.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• 1 year related work experience in television and/or media data analysis
• Strong analytic and numeric skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Extremely detail oriented
• Highly organized, able to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Exhibits professional demeanor
• Advanced PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Knowledge of reporting tools (StarTrak, MyEvnts, NPower, Arianna) a plus
• Strong critical thinking, collaboration skills and operational discipline
