Full Time Job
The Manager, Special Events role manages aspects of events including, but not limited to: ticketing premieres, will call, red carpet and party logistics. Supports the Vice President, Special Events and Events Director. We are seeking a great “brand ambassador” to join our team.
Responsibilities:
• Manages involvement of staff, vendors and executives in planning and implementing major events including, but not limited to, premieres, promotional events, internal Paramount events, luncheons and parties
• Brainstorms with Events team and / or vendors, where applicable, to create stunted red carpet layouts
• Works with vendor to create after-party environment suitable for filmmakers, talent and executives
• Manages onsite check-in, VIP seating and set up at after party venue
• Responsible for executing contracts in conjunction with Legal Department
• Assists with external events (examples include but are not limited to: Academy Dinners, Chairman Events, Filmmaker Dinners)
• Creates, follows and reconciles detailed budgets
• Works with all vendors to effectively communicate accurate deliverables
• Works directly with Events Director to ensure all printed materials, invites, talent lists and communication have been handled accordingly and have obtained the proper internal approvals pre-distribution
• Works closely with the Special Events Coordinator, to ensure all theatre logistics are handled prior to event date
• Works with VP, Special Events’ Coordinator (and outside vendors as needed) to ensure ticketing/seating is organized prior to screenings and premieres
• Monitors current trends and venue openings within the entertainment industry / special events field
• Manages vendor relationships in order to stay abreast of what innovative ideas they offer and how they differ from one another
• Updates and manages internal events department calendar used to track department projects
• Travels and is on-site at events outside of Los Angeles area when support staff is needed by VP, Special Events
• Cultivates and maintains effective relationships with key executives and industry members while working with the Paramount publicity and marketing staff, as appropriate
• Ensures the highest levels of quality, thoughtfulness, and professionalism in all verbal and written communication
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in event planning
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, affinity for networking and demonstrated high level of confidence and poise when in front of others, with a strong customer-service orientation
• Self-starter with excellent organizational skills, including strong problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
• Ability to travel/work remotely from event locations domestically and globally
• Acute attention to detail, and commitment to excellence and high standards
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential material
