Full Time Job
This position will be a hybrid of both sales and event management responsible for account management, business development, market research, sales prospecting, customer relationship management, event planning and coordination, logistics oversight, revenue management, and communications.
• Prepare proposals and contracts for clients and maintain well-organized event records
• Build and maintain working relationships with internal and external partners and leverage these relationships to deliver innovative and memorable events
• Be an active member of the hospitality and event planning industries
• Pursue new market opportunities to increase event sales, working in concert with LATCB (Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board), DMC’s and Event Producers
• Meet with clients regularly, and conduct site tours of the event facilities
• Provide accurate and timely information to clients, vendors, and meeting planners
• Prepare detailed event reports, including sales data worksheets, cost projections, sales forecasting and other financial metrics
• Work collaboratively with the Special Events team to achieve the department’s and the company’s financial goals
• Work with clients to determine event details and guide their expectations to ensure a successful event
• Make sure all details of events are properly planned and executed
• Develop working budgets and work with client through cost details
• Oversee applicable contracts and payment schedules
• Serve as liaison between the client and all internal/external partners
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of all assigned events
• Work closely with on lot departments (Security, Janitorial, Fire, Hospital, Grips, Set Lighting, etc.)
• Establish strong relationships with outside vendors in order to fulfill event needs
• Accurately track and record event spending and facilitate timely billing
• Work all hours assigned, including weekends and Holidays if necessary
Basic Qualifications
• 3 years of experience selling, organizing, and managing events, including corporate meetings, trainings, luncheons, weddings, and other special occasions
• Bachelor's degree or Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) certification, or equivalent experience
Additional Qualifications
• Strong proficiency in all Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong Event Sales & Planning skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proven success in developing client relationships and managing client expectations
• Team oriented: proven success working in a team environment and willing to assist others as needed
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to manage several projects concurrently
• Have an understanding of budgeting and financial management
• Must be willing and able to work irregular hours and weekends when needed
