This position will be based in London, UK. Under the guidance of the SVP of Intellectual Property located in Viacom HQ in New York, manage Customs programs around the world to help with anti-counterfeiting efforts as well as facilitate smooth shipping and receiving for authorized licensees, conduct and analyze international trademark clearance reports to determine the availability of the proposed trademarks for programming titles and ancillary goods and services; where appropriate, file trademark applications for the mark cleared in territories around the world; and support the Viacom corporate mergers and acquisitions team with evaluating IP for due diligence purposes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• With the help of local counsel where necessary, conduct trademark clearances, for international program titles and merchandising campaigns through online databases, analyze search results, and present recommendations to internal business clients;
• Manage the prosecution of international trademark filings; correspond with outside counsel on issues relating to applications including local office objections;
• Manage the Customs recordation process around the world;
• Prepare and manage applications to record marks with different Customs agencies around the world;
• Draft settlement agreements subject to the review and approval of the VP and SVP of the department; and
• Evaluate IP portfolios for potential acquisitions.
Essential qualifiations;
• University Bachelor’s Degree
• 4 years of experience in comprehensive international trademark portfolio management, including extensive work with managing outside counsel;
• Knowledge of relevant international trademark laws; and
Management of a large trademark portfolio (15,000 or more) preferred

• Must have strong background in international trademark clearance and international trademark prosecution matters;
• Must have the ability to analyze legal issues and clearly and succinctly render opinions both verbally and in writing;
• Must be diligent, highly organized, proactive, dedicated, positive and energetic;
• Must have the ability to work independently;
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Must be detail-oriented, able to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines and able to work in an efficient and organized manner;
• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment;
• A cooperative, team-oriented approach; and
• Excellent follow-through skills.
