JOB TITLE: Talent and Music (TAM) Intern - UK
JOB SUMMARY

Working in the UK Talent & Music and Programming team, the department intern will assist with a variety of tasks (admin, ticket requests, requesting Artist assets, collating playlist information) as well as providing specific support to team members as directed. Additionally they will act as our on the ground point of contact for Artists, Labels and Managers at MTV shoots, interviews and other MTV programming. The right candidate will have a basic understanding of the music industry, an enthusiastic approach to learning new things, be able to deal with people from a variety of backgrounds, have a calm nature and be a good team player. They should also be up for and willing to go to gigs to see new artists & label priorities on a weekly basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinating requests to labels from within the departments for tickets, CDs and showcase invites.
• Request research material (CDs, biogs etc) from the label/s, as directed for interviews and artist led initiatives
• Prepare the Video Acquisitions list and help run the weekly Video Acquisitions meeting
• Consistently monitor and update the Video Acquisitions tracker, liaising with labels to ensure all paperwork is completed
• Collate and send out weekly internal/ external newsletters
• Maintain an up to date list of Interviews and longform programming, through spreadsheets & links.
• Ensure that the forward planning document, video acquisitions tracker, artist shows, weekly schedules, playlists and the guest release form documents are completed and delivered.
• Update & maintain the release documents on a weekly basis, actively sourcing release date information from print press and the department
• Update the TAM external/internal global & UK contacts list.
• Meeting / looking after artists and their label and management entourages as and when they come in to our Hawley Crescent studios for network shows, regional shows or a combination. On occasion shoots will take place at hotels or other external locations at differing times.
• Ordering catering, liaising with producers, working to tight schedules etc.
• Co-ordinating the usage & booking of dressing rooms, meeting rooms
• Co-ordinating gig requests to TAM Ambassadors and collating social media info.
• Collating screengrabs / stills from our digital properties around specific artist initiatives.
• Assisting the Video Acquisitions Manager & Music Programming Team as directed.
• To be Video Acquisition Manager back up when on sick leave and on holiday.
• Booking hotels / taxis and accommodation for team travel as requested.
• Take meeting minutes and offer general assistance to the UK Music and Programming departments as required.
• Collect post routinely, arrange and handle mail outs and order stationary for the UK programming department

Skills
& Experience:
• The successful applicant should be passionate and well versed in the current music scene, intelligent and able to think on their feet. They should be confident, have good people skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and be able to work well within a team. They should definitely not be someone who gets star struck. The ideal candidate is someone who works well under pressure and can demonstrate this with past work experience.
• A basic understanding of the Music Industry in the UK, and knowledge of the digital landscape
• Effective and confident written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and a proven ability to multi task.
• Ability to prioritise.
• Ability to use initiative.
• Competent, efficient and able to work under pressure.
PC Skills:
• MS Office or equivalent
• Excel
• Experience of creating/curating/promoting music content on social networks preferred
