Purpose of the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Intern to join the Channel 5 marketing department to help achieve our very ambitious goals. You will be working with your Campaign Manager in a support capacity for through-the-line campaigns and other major projects (includes delivering campaign elements, project timelines, budget sheets, WIP reports, meeting facilitation etc.).
You will be responsible for liaising with third party suppliers and affiliate partners who will be looking to promote our campaigns across their multiple channels. As a marketing intern, you will collaborate with all internal Channel 5 departments, including Press, Commissioning and Creative, to ensure coherent and comprehensive marketing activities. You will manage weekly internal communication to summarise the Marketing department output. The role will also allow you to develop the necessary skills in order to manage the campaign budget tracker, raising POs and handling invoice queries as and when necessary. Finally, you will be expected to support your line manager and Executive Marketing Director, assisting with presentations and organising and preparing for large meetings.
Key Accountabilities
• Work with the Campaign Manager/Producer in a support capacity for through-the-line campaigns and other major projects (including delivering campaign elements, project timelines, budget sheets, WIP reports, meeting facilitation etc.)
• Assisting and managing relationships with affiliate partners (such as Freeview, Trueview etc.)
• Liaise with other Comms departments including Press and Creative to ensure coherent and comprehensive marketing activities
• Manage weekly internal communication to summarise the Marketing department output
• Facilitate delivery of brand assets, style guides and on-air material for internal and external business requirements as required
• Be responsible for updating the campaign budget tracker, raising POs and handling invoice queries as and when necessary
• Provide support for the Senior Director of Marketing, assisting with presentations and organising and preparing for external presentations
Experience and Knowledge
• Knowledge of marketing and communications
• Knowledge and interest of TV/broadcast
• Understanding of the market mix
• Awareness of marketing in the multi-channel TV environment
• Understanding and engaging with social platforms
• Knowledge of design of assets
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and manage time effectively
• Extensive knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Can work under pressure
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines whilst working for a number of people
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to use own initiative within a fast-paced team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to be flexible and appreciate the creative process
• Confidence in liasing with people
