What will you be responsible for...
This role will be responsible for the allocation, management and optimization of Nickelodeon UK’s promotional airtime in order to achieve the channel’s business objectives, brand strategy and creative ambitions
What will you be doing...
Head of Nickelodeon Media Planning will be responsible for managing the UK media planning functionality, ensuring that all media plans across the Nick UK network of channels are planned, implemented and evaluated according to the agreed prioritization strategy. Responsibilities also include management of the Navigational strategy for UK channels and leading all post campaign analysis. The role will also span the planning and alignment of promotional messages across all consumer facing platforms
Apply the principles of media planning and use all available research data to create the most audience focused promotional plans and schedules
Responsibility for creating and implementing short - long term media planning strategies in line with yearly budget process
Maintain UK Airtime Planner according to launch dates and property prioritization plans
Undertake ongoing audit of promotional inventory to ensure Airtime Planner ‘supply’ is accurate
Compose on air campaign laydowns for key property launches
Work closely with Programming, Marketing, Creative Services, Channel
Operations to identify key priorities and contribute to promotional briefs
Track schedule hotspots, co-ordinating the creation and placement of navigation/graphics to minimize audience churn and bolster portfolio reach
Manage promotional and continuity makelist documentation
Implementation of multi-platform media planning, aligning promotional messages across all consumer touch points
Build and maintain close relationship with Creative Services and Operations to ensure the timely sign off, compliance and delivery of all interstitial material
Liaison figure with Channel Ops team overseeing the workflow between departments and ensuring Ch.Ops are updated on all campaign information
Construct media plans, monitor delivery and present in depth post campaign reviews
Complete regular competitive analyses
Create monthly break patterns to strategically protect key programming properties without damaging commercial impacts
Model sponsorship scenarios and delivery for the Commercial teams
Manage systems development, inputting into all decisions that affect the Media Planning team’s processes and workflow
Provide leading contributions to ad hoc business development/programming/research projects
Provide media planning best practice instruction to rest of Nickelodeon Cluster
Manage the performance and developmental needs of the team of the Media Planning Manager and Media Planning Assistant
You will need the following to succeed...
Passion and knowledge of all Nick content and knowledge of the Kids TV marketplace and the competitive picture
A proven knowledge of BARB and media analysis tools (Infosys/Techedge) and techniques to conduct research
An understanding and awareness of our key competitors
Experience as a peer lead across non UK Markets
Experience of presenting to a wide range of audiences
Proven experience in effectively and diplomatically dealing with a wide range of departments and levels within the organisation
Experience in influencing and working with senior managers, both tactfully and assertively
Experience in managing a team, including personnel development and the ability to motivate and listen
Ability to co-ordinate a combination of roles and work under pressure
Ability to analyse workflow and take decisive action to achieve better practice
Experience in systems development
Demonstrable understanding of the editorial and transmission requirements of the schedule
Demonstrable understanding of the commercial broadcast marketplace
Outstanding eye for detail, numeracy and organisational skills
Fast, methodical and accurate
Team player with ‘can do’ attitude
