Creative and commercial accumen, a great people manager with a hunger to work on the greatest Music television channel - EVER!
MTV is looking for a highly organised and adaptable Head of Digital Video to manage day-to-day video production within the team.
The role will be responsible for managing video content that sits across all social channels including Snapchat/YouTube/Facebook/Instagram/Twitter, emerging platforms and MTV.co.uk. Content created will cover numerous verticals, including MTV Events, MTV News, Shows, Music, Celebrity, Lifestyle, Gaming, Movies, Fitness, and Travel.
You will manage the in-house digital video team and work closely with the short-form hub and head of production and commercial teams including Sky and Viacom Velocity to produce original short and medium-form MTV short form series.
You will work closely with section editors to ensure a robust content strategy is implemented, contributing to a solid bank of video content which is delivered daily, across many international teams and regions.
Your experience will include creative digital video generation and post-production at scale, and could include broadcast experience. You will have a strong track record in delivering bespoke digital content that is platform specific.
You have an affinity for the pop culture that MTV is famous for and enjoy music, entertainment, fashion and film and want the opportunity to be involved in innovative projects. You’re keen to get your hands dirty and take the video lead, as part of a successful multi-platform digital team.
You will need to own...
• Executing the creative direction of the video team working with and alongside key senior stakeholders from around the business
• Exec producing and producing Original and Branded content, making sure standards are consistently outstanding for our engaged audience
• Leading, inspiring and managing a brilliant and diverse team of video creatives
• People managing, signing off holidays and sick days, undertaking appraisals and being responsible for the growth and productivity of the team
• Step in and direct, shoot or edit content if needed
• Owning the rights and clearances processes
• Providing editors with regular updated workflows
• Communicating with international teams
• Multi-tasking, handling several video projects concurrently, leading every stage pragmatically and objectively
• Managing a monthly budget for the video team, being accountable and able to demonstrate growth against investmen
• Develop and deliver ideas from scratch, overseeing every phase of time-sensitive and scheduled production (inc. signing off video from external sources, inc. broadcasts)
• Managing live streams held on the website and social platforms
• Role will be London-based but may require international travel for extended periods
• Communication between the VP of Digital, Short-form lead and Digital Director
You will need to have...
• Must be Mac literate
• Experience in developing short-form series from development to publish/marketing
• Experience in production processes including scoping and budgets
• Adobe Creative cloud (Premiere, After effects, Photoshop, Media encoder vital)
• Proficient technical video skills; good understanding of broadcast lighting and camera equipment (inc. studio expertise, running productions from a gallery, shooting, audio recording)
• Experience working on entertainment content
• Interest in and knowledge of lifestyle/entertainment
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Superb organisational skills
• Ability to build strong working relationships remotely and face-to-face
• Understanding of the needs of a digital business and the news cycle
• Experience with content management systems
• Solid understanding of commercial/creative editorial requirements
• Creative flare, out-of-the-box thinking, and passion for the emerging side of fashion, music, movies and lifestyle
• Bring a sense of humour to the team and share inspiring influences, trends and ideas
• Unflappable leadership, obsessed with content, confident presenting at a moment’s notice if called upon
• Experience of managing, leading and developing others
