Reporting to the Vice President, Global Inclusion Strategy-West Coast, the Director, Diversity & Inclusion will support the department’s mission of fostering a culture of inclusiveness, which holds leadership accountable for creating, developing, promoting and championing a diverse, multicultural workforce where all employees can achieve and contribute to the company’s success.
Job Responsibilities
to include, but not limited to:
• Strengthen Viacom's Office of Global Inclusions (OGI) presence on the West Coast, serving as a visible champion for inclusion and a supportive resource for employees in all West Coast Offices (Hollywood and Burbank)
• Serve as primary point of contact for all Employee Resource Group (ERGs) leadership teams to provide guidance and support to advance their strategic plans
• Manage OGI West Coast’s online presence including social media accounts, Viacom’s internal Inclusion site and Workplace at Viacom
• Draft communications sent from the Office of Global Inclusion, including D I newsletters and welcome messages to new hires
• Partner with learning and development to develop and execute employee training opportunities on topics such as Unconscious Bias, Inclusive Leadership and Bystander Intervention
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to enhance outreach to prospective employees and position Viacom as a first choice employer
• Conduct research and prepare presentations on topics/issues of importance to diversity & inclusion
• Represent the company at external events, as appropriate
• Assist with special projects, as needed
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 5 years work experience in a management or leadership capacity in the D&I space
• Solid understanding of diversity, inclusion and belonging in the workplace, including employee resource groups, unconscious bias, and supplier diversity
Additional Qualifications
• Ability to handle confidential matters with sensitivity and discretion
• Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and handle heavy workload in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to work in cross functional team environment
• Ability to process and summarize large amounts of data into concise and meaningful reports
• Highly developed analytical skills to understand complex data and to provide insights
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop
• Experience in the entertainment/media industry a plus
