Full Time Job
The Standards and Practices department is responsible for ensuring that programming and advertising presented on Viacom’s networks meet standards of good taste and community acceptability
The primary focus of this position is to provide S&P content coverage and administrative support to three teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
S&P CONTENT COVERAGE:
Advertising Digital & Emerging Media:
• Daily review of scripted and filmed advertising material, including substantiation and documentation of product claims to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and network policies
• Review integrated marketing submissions and promotions across all channels within assigned categories as well as online advertisements
• Under supervision, assist with special projects outside of assigned areas
Music and Entertainment:
• Responsible for evaluating original concepts, scripts, rough cuts, finals, promos and trailers for assigned content and for issuing notes to Production, Development, and team members in a concise and timely manner
• Participate in the Music Video process reviewing and discussing content issues on new music videos submitted to the Music Channels.
• Assign appropriate Parental Ratings and time restrictions to reviewed programs, series and multi-platform content
• Designated back-up for Programming on Music Channels and Acquisitions where needed
• Review and evaluate assigned Competitive Programming
• Will be trained and expected to cover live events for audio and video delay
• Research current events, trends, and relevant multi-media for presentations and dissemination
ADMINISTRATIVE:
• General administrative tasks such as execute expense reports, arrange for travel, airfare, hotels and cars
• Clip media for reels to be emailed
• Input information to various databases
• Organizing and updating shared information resources
• Maintaining relevant administrative documents
• Identify and distribute materials submitted to the Department for review
• Provide back-up to the SVP’s assistant
Basic Qualifications
• College Degree
• Native or Bilingual proficiency in Spanish
• Interest in Pop Culture, Current Events, TV, Music, Social and Streaming Media, Apps, and Multi-platform original content
• 1 years in Standards, Programming, advertising or related fields
Additional Qualifications
• Strong written, verbal and presentations skills
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment and to make quick decisions under pressure and on deadline
• Work independently and be an active part of a team
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Strong Computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Final Cut, Avid well as a quick study on unique department systems
