The Coordinator, Music Services will report directly to a Senior Manager in Music Strategy & Services . This position will oversee a key function of the music administration workflow across all of Viacom Media Networks and ranges in responsibilities from securing music deliverables for all Viacom commissioned music to reporting and approving all cue sheets submitted across the spectrum of Viacom productions. We are seeking someone who is extremely detail-oriented and capable of developing and executing strategies that will create important efficiencies in the current workflow. The position demands someone who is innovative, driven and reliable.
Track Programming and Secure Music Deliverables: Track Viacom programming to determine the timing and scope of delivery of all music elements related to commissioned music. In addition to the highly detailed work of securing both music files and metadata delivery, this person will need to communicate with agents, composers and producers to ensure that a delivery schedule is meet with the utmost accuracy and efficiency.
• Track all Viacom programming, being alert to the status of all music deliverables and cue sheets.
• Develop a working relationship with agents, composers and producers and communicate clear instructions regarding the completion of duties and the delivery of all music-related assets.
• Upload, track and store all music assets within Viacom ecosystem including its proprietary cue sheet system and internal music platform.
Approve Music Cue Sheets: This position will be at the center of our cue sheet approval process and is expected to become an expert in our proprietary cue sheet system as well as issues related to cue sheet creation and cue sheet compliance. Among the responsibilities will be to:
• Report cue sheets to the Performing Rights Organizations and all of Viacom music partners that require cue sheets.
• Become the point person for all cue sheet inquiries.
• Run quarterly reports that will provide detailed data cue sheet reporting across Viacom.
• Run reports using SQL for all music research requests and be expected to present data in a meaningful, targeted and interesting manner.
• Set up and train new users to our cue sheet system.
• Update our cue sheet system with metadata from our many production music library partners.
• Ingest full metadata updates into our cue sheet for all Viacom owned music.
Provide Support to Viacom Music Library: A ssist in the ingestion and management of Viacom’s Music Library. This will involve a number or responsibilities identical in nature to those listed above, but in all in support of the growth and management of this library.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 plus years of experience in television/music/entertainment field.
Additional Qualifications
• BA in Television, Film, Communications, Publishing, Business or similar preferred.
• Advance skill in Excel
• Experience with analyze license agreements
• Ability to aggressively negotiate with licensor
• Must be able to write effective and persuasive clearance permission letters
• Must be able to communicate show ideas/use of materials/rights & media requested accurately to licensors
• Excellent attention to detail
• Must be analytical
