Viacom Global Consumer Insights is responsible for developing a deep understanding of Viacom audiences around the world, then disseminating those findings within the company and beyond. Through multi-country research and insights initiatives, we support all Viacom corporate teams. We collaborate with consumer insights teams in the US and abroad to champion regional findings and coordinate global results, contributing to Viacom’s vast audience expertise.
The Coordinator, Global Consumer Insights will be responsible for projects supporting the Global Consumer Insights team. This role’s primary responsibility is to help communicate our research about Viacom brands’ audiences to people within Viacom and beyond.
In addition to being detail-oriented, analytical and with strong interpersonal skills, this role requires an interest and curiosity in learning how to interpret data and consumer research. An ability to organize information and to create/refine processes is essential.
Responsibilities
include:
Primary responsibility is to assist in communicating our Global Consumer Insights findings to the broader Viacom audience and beyond. This includes but is not limited to:
• Supporting and facilitating project launches -- including maintaining distribution lists, creating and distributing presentation materials/invitations, and managing events.
• Managing our blog, newsletter and social media.
Secondary responsibility to support Global Consumer Insights with global syndicated insights:
• Assist in managing syndicated reports for distribution throughout Viacom.
• Work with global syndicated data to respond to information requests and answer key business questions.
Administrative support as needed:
• Develop/maintain organizational systems and best practices for efficiency and accuracy.
• Facilitate weekly department status calls, including printing documents for all participants.
• Monitor department inbox, responding appropriately to emails as they come in.
• Facilitate and maintain vendor relationships.
• Maintain finance records and raise purchase orders to facilitate vendor payment and budget accuracy.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong PC and PowerPoint skills
Additional Qualifications
• Experience in media research preferred.
• A working knowledge of primary research approaches is a plus.
• Experienced with working in an international environment a plus.
• The ability to keep up with multiple tasks and changing priorities in a complex, fast-paced business environment.
• Positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to form strong professional and working relationships.
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as a sense of curiosity about human behavior and the world at large.
• Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to write concisely and compellingly.
• Video and graphics editing skills a plus.
• The ability to be diplomatic with a high level of cultural sensitivity.
