Viacom’s Distribution & Business Development department negotiates and manages carriage agreements with traditional cable operators (Comcast, Charter), new digital partners (Roku, Amazon), and wireless distributors (T-Mobile) to bring Viacom content to current and emerging devices and platforms. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about the business of media, ambitious, and can adapt to a constantly shifting landscape.
As the Coordinator in this role, you will work directly with the Manager, Director, and Vice President of Distribution and Business Development to support account management and new sales efforts.
Responsibilities
• You will lead account management by understanding and maintaining subscriber trends, viewership analysis, consumer products and offerings, and corporate structure
• You will aggregate and synthesize account reporting and data for senior management through models and reports
• You will become an expert on the ins and outs of team accounts to bring insight to contract negotiations and other high-level projects
• You will work collaboratively across DBD verticals to fulfill partner needs, execute department initiatives and launch new products with Marketing, Strategy, Operations, Legal, and Finance teams
• You will independently manage small cable accounts, which can include presenting to clients and attending industry events
• You will identify new business opportunities to expand VMN’s reach through research and competitive analysis
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with at least 1-year of experience (excluding internships), preferably within a cross-functional business environment
• Experience in developing and fostering client relationships
• Project management: Organized, detail-oriented, ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strategic Analysis: Strong research and analytical skills and ability to synthesize data
• Dedicated self-starter and great teammate, with the ability to learn quickly, be flexible and adapt to changing industry and organizational landscape
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, outstanding written and oral communications skills as required to interface across several levels and groups
